The Szechuan Earthquake

15 05 2008

16,000 dead is the latest figure I heard on the news.

I don’t think I can ever wrap my mind around figures such as this.

And then you watch the more in-depth reports and see on your TV screens that these people are all the children, relatives or even parents of the hundreds of thousands around, and your heart just aches.

The word Sechuan is well known in the Chinese Restaurant all over the world. I believe the speciality in the Sechuan chinese dishes must have come from this province. We have enjoyed the Chinese meals and have been blessed by this people who have made a great contribution to the Chinese cuisine.

But now these people have been affected by the earthquake and lost their homes, wealth, families, etc. They need our help. I believe all of us who have enjoyed the Chinese cuisine, need to put our hands deep into our pocket and give generously to the victims of the earthquake in Sechuan.

One organisation that you can consider is The Salvation Army. It has branches all over the world. The Salvation Army makes sure that the fund reaches the people in need. Contact your local Salvation Army in your country.

Thank you for your support.

I totally agreed with you. The people of Szechuan had suffered the biggest nightmare in theirs’ life. Every body should help in a way or two. The victims really need your support

Recently, I heard a friend is training volunteers in the nearby affected areas to use games to bring peace and comfort to the children. What a great creative and innovative programme. We thank God for these people, where God has given them special talents to help the affected people. Many children have lost their love ones… they want peace and comfort. We pray that the God of peace and comfort will be these children.

If you have special gift, join the many NGO’s or Christian organisation to help these people. Share our resources, skills and talents.

Recently we heard another area of China has been affected… continue to uphold these people in your daily prayers.

Continue with your support.
