In what I believe to be only my second ever post on cars (at least since I moved to wordpress), I am announcing that I have finally made the purchase.
The car will be ready for pickup this Wednesday, the fated day on which I will also be taking a 4.5 hour written exam with Canada Border Services (I very randomly applied to become a Border Services Officer a couple of months ago).
Throughout this month-long journey of car-selling and car-buying I have learned a heck load about myself.
Some of these things include:
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
- I have had to cast out a lot of demons from myself “The Exorcist” style, as the demon who possessed me and almost got me buying the Jeep Wrangler was a rather strong fella
- I found out that I had almost forgotten about Justification Through Faith and faith alone, and that Jesus Christ really loves me the same whether I drive a Japanese car or an American car – this IS true, even though there are still voices in my head that say otherwise
- I found out that my mom really ISN’T as open-minded as I thought she was, and that she WOULD feel slightly uncomfortable if I married a non-Asian girl
- I found out that everyone is really out there to low-ball you, and that you really have to stand up for yourself if you want to “be a man and do the right thing” and get a good deal
- I found out who the dominant male figure in my life has really been for all this time
- I found out that 0% financing is really just a cover-up for the dealers to make the money you would’ve otherwise saved if you had gone for a cash deal
- I found out that when you have a Christian friend who is willing to give you a phone call all the way from Ontario just to check if you’re indeed okay, you really aren’t “entitled” to calling yourself a loner. Although to say “suck it up and be a man” would not be the best approach either, as it sort of throws out the fact that the Holy Spirit – GOD – lives inside of me and enables me
- I found out that East Van is indeed a lot more interesting than downtown Vancouver, and that Broadway station has become my new “hangout spot”
- I found out that the view from the Skytrain at Stadium – looking down at False Creek right next to Science World – can be quite breathtaking, especially during sunset
- I found out that Starbucks #163 (the store I worked at) has just hired a few pretty baristas and that I should’ve never ever quit the job. Shame on me.

Anyways, I will post some pictures once I get my hands on the new car.
I am a bit worried about getting the car home though, as I have only ever driven manual transmission for a total of, say, 2-3 hours in my life. But I think I will cope.
